Padwork involves using focus mitts and a bag to teach boxing and kickboxing techniques. Padwork sessions can be used as a conditioning tool to improve anaerobic fitness and co-ordination, decrease stress, improve self-confidence and promote weight loss. It is also a useful tool for non-weight bearing conditioning if a lower limb is injured and cardiovascular fitness needs to be preserved.

It is a challenging workout, enjoyable and refreshing alternative to the more conventional cardiovascular training methods such as rowing, running, swimming or cycling.

Padwork sessions last forĀ 60 minutes and usually incorporate a level of hip and trunk conditioning, if required, and are suitable for children as well as adults.
