Elite athletes

Elite athletes often find themselves on their own with regards to preparing for competition. Frustratingly, funding often varies considerably between sports and sometimes even access to the relevant support staff can be limited. As a consequence, a lack of support can often impact an athlete’s development and quite possibly limit personal performance in competition.

Strength and conditioning for athletes

At Give Me Strength, we can provide support for the elite athlete by providing an individual service catering for the athletes long-term development and sporting ambitions.

Some examples of support for the elite athlete include:

  • Developing individualised resistance training programmes to aid sports performance.
  • Supervision of existing training programmes, providing peace of mind and motivation for the athlete.
  • Providing relevant testing and monitoring for the athlete, in order to create a benchmark for progression and a point of reference for the future.
  • Providing sports science support with regards to competition preparation, recovery and nutrition.
  • Designing supplementary programmes with an injury prevention bias.

Support for sports clubs

Many sports clubs do not have the luxury of full or even part-time support staff. Often, the manager/coach may organise and supervise conditioning sessions themselves but may not have the extra time or knowledge to provide further assistance or cater for individuals. At Give Me Strength, we can provide education and support for coaches with regards to individual requirements, conditioning, competition preparation and recovery. These services may include:

  • Designing/overseeing field-based or sport-specific conditioning sessions
  • Supervising/designing resistance training sessions for sports performance
  • Organising and overseeing recovery protocols
  • Working with individuals who may be injury prone or needing additional conditioning or assistance
  • Assessing/monitoring athletes and providing feedback for medical and/or sports science departments
  • Providing in-house training for coaching or medical staff.
